What to do in Granada

Flamenco - Tapas - Visits ...

Granada is internationally known for its prestigious palace The Alhambra, which attracts 2 milion tourists every year. It is the most visited monuments of Spain.

But our thousand-old city has much more historical, cultural, artistic wealth than just the Alhambra.

What about its oldest neighbourhoods, so typical, characteristical and full of magic?; And what about all the characters, the noble merchants, the beautiful damas and their legends about love, betrayal and jealousy?; What about the façade of these Renaissance palaces with their nice filigree ornaments, those Mudejar churches, the design and colours of their coffered ceilings?; Isn’t all this also part of the extraordinary patrimonial herency of our city? Of course it is and we make ourselves available to show this to you and help you discover the essence of our neighbourhood.

The Albayzin in Granada is famous for being recognised as World Heritage by UNESCO. A maze of cobbled-stone streets, uphill, down hill, some of them with no way out but which will guide you to beautiful carmenes with wonderful gardens and traditional Muslim courtyards and fountains; Ancient historical remains and ruins. A place which was the centre where first human civilisations lived, first Phoenician people, then Greeks, Cartagean people, Romans, Visigoths and Arabs until our final major invasion and conquest with the arrival of the Christians. All this cultural diverisity gives the Albayzin its historical and cultural wealth, which is still visible today.

Few are the words that I used to describe this barrio of Granada. I believe an image is worth a thousand words. For this reason I encourage you to come and visit the Albayzin with us and find out about the magic and the charm of our city on a nice walk.
